MEETING - The French number 2, finalist of the last Rolex Paris Masters, also dreams of one day shining in the West of Paris.
At the Rolex Paris Masters in Bercy last season, the current world number 22 thrilled the French crowd to reach his first Masters 1000 final (losing to Zverev ). The first French player to reach the final of a tournament in this category since Gaël Monfils in Monte-Carlo (2016), Ugo Humbert is clearly one of the best indoor players. He has won 18 of his last 19 matches and 4 of his 7 ATP titles.
And if one of the four Grand Slams took place with a roof over his head, he would be one of the outsiders. On clay, it's a completely different story. And especially at Roland-Garros. In six participations, the Lorraine native has won only one match at Porte d'Auteuil... Results unworthy of a player who has flirted with the top 10 these last two years and twice reached the round of 16 at Wimbledon (2019 and 2024) and the round of 16 at the last Australian Open.
